Cutlass Solar 1 & 2
Developing utility-scale solar power facilities is one of the most efficient ways to reduce carbon emissions and support a clean energy future. Our team recently completed Cutlass Solar 1 and 2, which will provide clean energy for around 60,000 homes across Texas.
Sabine Pass Liquefaction
For almost 20 years, Bechtel and Cheniere have worked together to expand access to LNG. In Louisiana, Bechtel designed, built, and expanded Cheniere’s 1,000+ acre facility, which consists of six liquefaction units (LNG trains) and a total capacity of ~30 million tonnes per annum. The trains were designed with the best combination of efficiency, cost, and reliability. In April 2023, Bechtel signed the Sabine Pass Liquefaction FEED contract with Cheniere Energy to expand its existing facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
Corpus Christi Liquefaction
In Texas, we are strengthening Cheniere’s market-leading LNG infrastructure platform by providing much-needed volumes to the global LNG market. Cheniere’s Corpus Christi Liquefaction facility, which Bechtel has supported since 2015, safely and securely sends LNG to markets around the world.
Plant Vogtle
Units 3 & 4
In 2017, Bechtel was brought in by Georgia Power and Southern Nuclear to help bring Vogtle Units 3 and 4 online. With both new units now in commercial operation, Plant Vogtle is the largest generator of clean energy in the U.S. Each of the units are capable of generating enough electricity to power an estimated 500,000 homes and businesses.
Bechtel has completed more than 76,000 megawatts of new nuclear generation capacity and has designed, built, or performed engineering and/or construction services on more than 80% of nuclear plants in the United States. Today, we lead efforts in designing and constructing advanced nuclear plants critical to global efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
Natrium
Bechtel is TerraPower’s engineering, procurement, and construction partner on the first-of-a-kind Natrium Demonstration Project in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The project is a part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program. Set against the backdrop of a retiring coal plant, this advanced energy demonstration project seeks to validate the design, construction, and operational features of the Natrium system. As the nexus of TerraPower and GE Hitachi technology, the Natrium Demonstration Plant’s design represents a leap forward in clean, sustainable power generation. The project will bring a commercial operating, advanced nuclear reactor online that will deliver carbon-free, reliable power to the electrical grid and provide jobs in Wyoming for decades to come.
