Improving access to vital resources.”
Bechtel is supporting Intel’s efforts to revitalize chipmaking in the U.S. by designing and building an advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in Ohio. Our team’s ability to design for rapid advances in technology and deploy best-in-class construction innovation will help transform Ohio into the “Silicon Heartland” by creating an entire supply chain to deliver the project, including engineers, construction leadership, and craft professionals.
Our team recently completed construction of one of the biggest manufacturing projects in the U.S., the Shell Polymers Monaca plant. At the time, this project marked one of the largest union construction jobs in the U.S. with more than 9,000 workers on site at peak construction. The plant is producing 1.6 million tonnes of polyethylene per year for use in a wide range of everyday products from packaging and containers to automotive components.
We are exploring the sustainable expansion of one of the world’s largest aluminum smelters as we complete a feasibility study for Alba’s Line 7.
Bechtel is working with Mitra Chem to design its cathode manufacturing plant. The plant will produce lithium iron phosphate cathodes, a resource critical to the electrification of transportation and long-term battery storage, on a commercial scale.
